Folktale Rest

This tiny had to be very unique just like its owners. Full of potential and inspiration for anyone that stays in her.

Vintage was the style brief, the older and rustic the better but with modern luxuries.

This tiny had quite a journey from start to finish. Initially being built for Tasmania but ended up in Esperance WA.

It starts off with the French doors that were sourced locally and refurbished. Through the doors you see the stunning Roaring Meg fire sent over from  New Zealand.

A comfy day bed with plenty of softness, cushions and storage.

A large viewing window brings the outside in. Next is the staircase storage and the kitchen opposite each other creating a gallery to the bathroom.

A small breakfast bar for two.

A butlers sink and raw brass tapware throughout. A double gas hotplate and microwave.

Opposite is the fridge space and plenty of storage.

The kick boards are pull-out drawers for extra storage.

The bathroom has a bath, shower and vanity plus flushing toilet.

A gorgeous vintage rice bucket is the sink and an old medicine cabinet on the wall.

Upstairs is a queen loft. Skylights, gorgeous vintage shutters over 100yrs old.

And handmade light fixtures. Such a unique tiny that was a pleasure to make.

The Drake

Our latest clients had a unique design request, that was to stand up in their loft area. So we designed a pop up roof. Having the pop up roof made it possible to stand in the loft and have a full size bedroom door for privacy. We incorporated a seating area looking over the roof where you can sit, read or enjoy the view.

The second challenge was a raised seating area with lots of storage, a double work space and a u-shaped lounge. Towards the back of the lounge we created loads of lift lid storage, at front we built custom drawers and pull out desks. All this created a comfy lounge area and storage for days.

As you enter the tiny thru one of the french front doors, you have a roaring meg fire on a custom built pedestal with storage for wood and a hidden cupboard for shoes.

Full kitchen with lots of storage, farmhouse sink, cooktop, oven and space for full size fridge. The staircase has a pull out pantry and a wine rack.

The bathroom has a custom built 2 drawer vanity with an above counter vessel and brushed gold tapware. The shower has a stunning herringbone tile feature wall and there is a cat litter draw for their beloved pet inside the cleaners pantry cupboard.

Upstairs is so roomy and bright. It has a custom built large skylight over the bed and plenty of opening windows to let in the sunlight. There is a lift lid storage under the seat of the reading nook which looks over the roof. Such a lovely spot to sit, read and enjoy the view.

It is an amazingly designed tiny with lots of little features. Enjoy looking thru the gallery

Little Pardalote

The clients named this tiny 'little pardalote' after the peep wrens that live on their property in Bruny Island.

They are colourful and full of life, that was the brief for this tiny. So we added some colour.

The feature wall behind the bed is in a colour called Moss Vale, a jewel like green and we even added it to the pressed tin behind the fire.

Outside we went for a pale eucalyptus colour tin and a warm honey colour timber to suit the environment.

We have a large viewing window above the comfy oversized lounge seat that pulls out into a double bed. Then along the front plenty of windows so you can see out over the meadow. This tiny will become an AirBnB, with a 4 person capacity.

So we have a large kitchen, plenty of storage and a breakfast bar. Open staircase from the bench up adds a sense of lightness. Plenty of shelf storage above vanity basin, large shower and composting toilet. Feature lights and original artworks, and cushions were added to this tiny plus blinds, so the client received the tiny turn key ready. We also created a deck for out the front.

The farmhouse sink, vintage style tapware, deep bath tub, custom made vanity, free standing shower, flushing toilet and lots more.

We laid waterproof click clack flooring in a concrete look all throughout that complimented the theme. Neutral tones throughout and a large L-shaped lounge with plenty of storage underneath.

The kitchen is spacious, lots of under bench storage, breakfast bar and across we added additional storage, bench space and open stairs from the bench up.

The loft fits a king bed, has additional storage at the foot end and a nib wall, on the other side of that is where the tv is mounted.

We created some original lights that complelmented the theme  made of perforated steel, all rusted out for added affect. Externally the tiny is completely black so it disappaers in its surroundings.

Little Roland

This tinys beginnings were a little different to the rest. It was designed to be a client's but life got in the way and it ended up being our own tiny.

I made a few minor changes and began the process of being a client to myself.

My aesthetics was modern rustic, with a touch of glam.

Some stored vintage pieces of my went in to add a rustic feel.

A large comfy lounge with underneath storage with plenty of handmade linen and featherdown cushions.

Stunning fire from Roaring Meg fires.

Full kitchen with a coffee nook.

An open staircase to the loft from the kitchen benchtop.

Beautiful wooden feature behind the bed with a library nook and storage underneath.

Beautiful spacious shower with stunning porcelain tiles, niche and chrome tapware. Just to give a touch of flare.

This tiny then was going up for sale but it sold before it hit the market.

Large viewing window and lead light french doors made this tiny look even more spacious.

Shepherd and Sprout

This was a great tiny to build. The clients just called in one day, checked out what we do and booked a tiny then and there. We had her design and interiors sorted in a week and then started not long after that. They knew what they wanted as they had been dreaming of this tiny for a long time.

It's going to be an Airbnb for them up at Wilmot.

Designed for a couple to enjoy some time away in luxury accommodation.

A beautiful oversized lounge with beautiful handmade cushions and storage underneath. Which is right next to a gorgeous little cube wood fire to keep you warm.

Full kitchen, full storage under stairs which brings you to the bathroom.

Gorgeous handmade vanity with amazing grass tapware and a spacious shower. In tones of sage, white and timber.

Spacious main loft with a feature wall and lights with oversized windows to enjoy the views while in bed.

Beautifully restored vintage door, stained cypress cladding and black trimdek tin.

Wont' be long til this tiny is ready for visitors.

Tiny House 1_2.jpg

The Bothy

So why is it called the bothy? Simply put the client has named this one in honor of her Scottish parents. The word bothy means a small hut or cottage. So, the name perfectly fits this tiny.

This tiny is only 6.6m long but has everything and more that the client needed. For now, it is going to be her home office, hence why in front of the large viewing window is the desk. With plenty of power points and connections for her to work comfortably in this space.

Another requirement for our client was a luxurious bathroom. So, the bathroom fits a full-size bath, handmade vintage vanity, extra wall shelving and a composting toilet. She also wanted a feature wall of tiles and terrazzo tiles on the floor.

Spacious kitchen and across from that plenty of storage within the staircase. Including a full-size wardrobe.

One spacious loft with a porter paint feature wall.

Exterior is sho sugi ban charred timbers.

IMG_0744.jpg

Little Boho

This beautiful tiny's brief was Boho chic with lots of storage.

The main loft is a little longer in this beautiful tiny so the client has plenty of space to move around the bed. The second loft is smaller as it will be her quiet and cute little reading nook.

The client wanted plenty of storage in this tiny which we did be giving her a nice sized hanging wardrobe in the kitchen, a storage section for both a washing machine and dryer and across from the toilet is lots of shelving for all your linen.

Keeping the tiny neutral with tones of sand/beige tiles, brushed nickel tapware and light coloured flooring. This was done so the client could add her own own pops of colours with her décor.

The benchtop and stair treads are a beautiful maple timber so we just put clear lacquer over to keep the colour light and in tone with the rest of the tiny.

The round window was a dream of the clients so we made it come true for them.

The exterior of the tiny being in all black with white trims makes it look like a present ready to be opened and the client was so excited when it arrived and she got to open the door to her beautiful new home.

kkkkk.jpg

Little Chateau

The client's brief for this tiny was dark and moody, yet spacious.

The tapware and sinks were kept black to keep the moody and dark atmosphere thru-out.

This tiny has a raised kitchen as the owner is taller and didn't want to bend. He also wanted to be able to cook of the fire. To make this work we raised the fire to be the same height as the kitchen bench. It fits perfectly between the double stairs.

By opening the left side of the stairs it makes the loungeroom feel more spacious and warm feel.

It was important to keep all the windows big and on the front as the tiny is in a remote location with amazing views.

The main loft has a skylight to do plenty of stargazing and the second loft is big enough for a single mattress if you have visitors.

21.jpg

Robin's Nest

This tiny belongs to a lovely lady that will use her tiny as a permanent home. So the brief was fresh and bright. She needed to walk into both lofts, with nib wall for privacy and additional storage in the main loft.

Robin loves timber so we created a timber feature wall on both her bedroom wall and the front of the nib wall giving her tiny a warm textured look.

A full kitchen and plenty of storage was needed but Robyn shows her personality here by having her kitchen cupboards painted in a fresh soft green and opposite in the staircase storage a pop of yellow was added in the pigeon hole storage and she went a step further giving her bathroom door that pop of yellow too.

The bathroom is spacious with space for her laundry, a full size shower and vanity. The toilet is a composting toilet.

Brushed brass was chosen for her tapware and it looks stunning against the green and yellow.

A comfy lounge with storage and a breakfast bar completes the space downstairs.

Outside is two shades of corrugated iron with some cypress pine.

A bump out made her lounge room so much bigger.

20220207131904_IMG_4612.jpg

Naivasha

Naivasha named by the client - it now resides on a beautiful property at Reedy Marsh as an Air Bnb.

The client had a clear vision of what she wanted her tiny to look like. The brief was a vintage wood cabin.

We burnt the cedar siding, added an original old door and this tiny has a pitch roof to give it that old world charm.

Inside we created a comfy seating area with storage. There's a little wood fire, a sturdy handmade ladder that leads up to an oversized loft - designed to give the guests a sense of grandeur & space.

The kitchen is a vintage cabinet as well as the vanity - converted to work in the space. A beautiful original blackwood sliding door, luxury fixtures & fittings through out. A small bump-out to house the vanity with a stunning leadlight window to add to the vintage feel.

Go and spend a night in Naivasha.

Moonsong

This tiny was our first commission and our most complex.

The design brief was to make the tiny for luxury overnight accommodation featuring timber feature walls, floors and custom built kitchen.

Bespoke bathroom with one of a kind handmade vanity, floor tile concept and sleek modern tap ware.

The craftsmanship was intensive but the results are stunning.

I named the tiny "The Chateau" whilst we were building her because she is grand, hand crafted to perfection and ageless.

Gypsy

Gypsy is the name given to this Tiny.

She was our first tiny that inspired our journey to building more.

She is artistically designed with practicality and function in mind.

She is spacious with a full kitchen, bathroom with removable bath, a single bed sized loft, a queen bed sized loft, lounge area, breakfast bar and 3 skylights.

The Parisian

A lovely well thought out interior to suit the clients needs & wants.

Working from home meant the second loft needed to be an office with plenty of storage, a view & workspace. Putting a shelf below in the seating area and suspending the loft floor away from the wall meant you can use the loft floor as your seat resting your feet on the multi purpose shelf.

As this is a permanent home for the client it meant plenty of storage was needed. Double staircase, pigeon hole storage in bedroom loft, hydraulic bed lift for storage under bed, kickboard storage and a lounge that doubles as a double bed plus storage.

The walk in bedroom meant the client has future proofed her tiny.

Wood burner, plenty of shelves and customised colour for the kitchen cabinets & additional work spaces.

There's lots more features so enjoy looking through the gallery.

20211108085308_IMG_3403.jpg

The Londoner

A beautiful contmeporary design, light and airy with lots of storage ideas.

Full kitchen and bathroom, laundry and plenty of windows was the brief for this tiny.

The tiny was to host the owners treasures collected from around the world so each space was deliberating created.

I love how the owner had entertainment in mind with a slimline door off the staircase for  small verandah and then opposite a bistro window in the kitchen for service and a glass front door.

This meant her family and guests could mingle throughout the house inside and out.

Enjoying the natural setting and views.

Little Darling

The Little Darling may only be 6.2 mtrs long but she is packed with extra features making her practical to live in yet roomy.

She has a wardrobe space, washing machine, microwave & a drawer dishwasher just to name a few features. Double loft with double staircase and a breakfast bar.

Externally she is a lovely contrast between a dark burnt timber and pale eucalyptus tin, with black aluminium windows.

She is very stylish.

Modern Country

This tiny is the first one we have done here in Tasmania. The client wanted her tiny to be warm and cosy with a hint of country.

This is the first tiny we have done with loft stairs behind the bathroom leading up to a private main loft. It worked so well.

The bathroom has plenty of room in it to move about and we utilised under the stairs with a built in laundry.

Both client and partner are tall so we added height to the kitchen and breakfast bar, adding storage under the kitchen, in the kick panel. A warm pop of colour, vivid basil, and a warm feature wall of oak brings in the modern country feel.

This tiny is 7.2 mtrs long, 2.4 mtrs wide, and 4.3 mtrs tall on a triple axle.

Note: She towed beautifully from Elliott to Hobart.

Modern Industrial

This tiny was so much fun to build. She was steampunk inspired.

The owner wanted to have fun with this tiny.

It is her personal home so we made sure to give her plenty of storage, full kitchen, full bathroom, queen size loft and a second loft as a spare bedroom/storage/office.

We dropped the loft height for the owner as she didn't need it to high and it meant she could have more head space upstairs.

Some features of note in this tiny is the large farmhouse sink, the beautiful classic handles, the black and white tile design in the bathroom and the ceiling fan.

Scandinavian

This tiny's interiors brief was white with raw pine and a dark feature wall.

This tiny was to be the clients permanent home so it needed storage, large kitchen, spacious bathroom with bath, space for large artworks to hang and a home office, plus a small wood heater.

We fitted all of that in and still made it look spacious.

This tiny has some lovely features in it, like the copper feature wall behind the fire, Beautiful lantern tiles in the bathroom.

Domino was the colour chosen for the feature wall and the kitchen was custom built.

It's a light artistically designed tiny.

Pine cone

This little Tiny was 6mtrs long, 2.4mtrs wide and 4.3 mtrs high.

She's called "Pine Cone" by the owner as this tiny was going onto property that has a pine forest behind.

It's interior is a pop of sunshine with all you need to live comfortably. The client designed this tiny for her lifestyle. Studying a PhD, cooking up a storm in her kitchen and upstairs yoga space.

We burnt the external cladding so the tiny would blend nicely with it's surroundings.

The pop of bright yellow on the door shows off the clients personality.

455648F9-9DE4-4CD7-B9C2-1E740A75B71E.jpg

Little Ness

This tiny is our smallest at 5mtrs and it needed to be compact for living in.

There was a limited budget on the build so a small kitchen and bathroom was decided upon to give more room for a lounge area and staircase.

We painted it all white with a lovely Tassie oak staircase and waterproof laminate, it looks light, bright and roomy.

To Lockup stage

This tiny was fun and so much quicker as it was only to lockup stage. I had the fun job of burning the cedar cladding which made this tiny look amazing. We did it up to lockup which includes, trailer, frames, electrics, plumbing, lofts, bathroom walls, windows, door, and the outside cladding. I'm looking forward to seeing how she looks finished.
